Letter to The Students regarding The Senior Academic Faculty sanctions

30 January, 2023

Dear Students,

As you know, the members of the academic staff have started sanctions. We are sorry for the difficulties these sanctions cause you, and we will do everything to reduce them.

Despite the sanctions, Moed Alef exams are taking place and will continue to take place as usual. However, as part of the sanctions, the grades in these exams will not be published. At this stage it is still not clear if Moed Bet exams will be held in courses taught by lecturers who belong to the senior academic staff. We hope that the negotiations will progress quickly and that Moed Bet exams will be held on time. In this case, students who did not receive the grade for Moed Alef exams within the required number of days before the Moed Bet exam will be able to choose from one of the following two options:

1. To take the Moed Bet exam and get the higher grade of the two exams in the course.

2. Not to take the Moed Bet exam and if necessary (after the publication of the grades from Moed Alef) to take the exam on a special date. In this case the determining grade will be the grade on the special date.

In addition, students who do not receive a grade in the course which is a prerequisite for the course held in the second semester, will be able to study the advanced course. Studying in the course will be conditional, until the grade in the previous course is received.

In courses taught by lecturers who do not belong to the senior academic staff, there are no sanctions, and course grades will be published as usual.

We thank the Student Union for its cooperation and will continue to update as soon as there are changes in the situation.

Sincerely,

Prof. Lilach Sagiv, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs

Prof. Tamir Sheafer, Rector
