Dear members of the Hebrew University community,
Attached is material that helps respond to calls to boycott Israeli Academia in general, and the Hebrew University in particular:
- Two media kit files with short discussion points—an abbreviated version and a version that also includes images and additional material.
- A document explaining that the University's properties on Mount Scopus (the campus, the student village and the sports center) were owned by the Hebrew University even before the establishment of the State of Israel.
- Prof. Barak Medina's review of Mia Wind's book, Towers of Ivory and Steel: How Israeli Universities Deny Palestinian Freedom, which calls for a boycott of Israeli universities and receives resonance in the international arena. https://www.hujilawblog.com/single-post/maya-wind-s-towers-of-manipulations.
- A copy of the Senate's decision of June 6, 2024.
- Link to a beautiful video produced by the Diversity and Inclusion Unit at The Hebrew University: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oveaf4NHS3QZZ-9SXARsnG8E3GH_Ok0Q/view?usp=drivesdk.
Please forward any information regarding the academic boycott, as well as any questions you may have, to the members of the team: Prof. Netta Barak-Corren (Chairperson), Vice-President for International Affairs Prof. Oron Shagrir, Prof. Barak Medina, Vice-President for Advancement and External Relations Yossi Gal, Rector Prof. Tamir Sheafer, and team coordinator Ms. Alma Lessing (almal@savion.huji.ac.il).
Best regards,
