Academic Guidelines in Preparation for End of the State of National Emergency

Exams

  • In the case of the decision to change the state of emergency so that academic activity can be resumed, there will be 3 working days during which no exams will be held, and no assignments will be required. After that, the exams will resume according to the planned exam schedule.
  • Students will be able to choose whether to sit the exam on the scheduled date (Moed B) or on a special date to be determined.
  • The academic units will set new dates for cancelled exams (Moed B). As far as possible, these dates will be set for the beginning of the semester, and the new dates will be published within 3 working days of the decision to change the state of emergency.
  • As a rule, students who will sit rescheduled exams during the semester period will be able to postpone the submission of assignments that they are required to submit during the week prior to the exam. Additionally, they will be exempt from the attendance requirement, except for courses of which the nature of the course does not permit for waiver of attendance or postponement of assignment submission (e.g. language courses, laboratories and other unique courses).

 

Grades

  • The appeal period for test scores published during the emergency period will be extended so that they can be appealed for at least 3 days after the announcement of the change in the national state of emergency

 

Assignments

  • With the decision to change the state of emergency so that academic activity can be resumed, new deadlines for submitting assignments will be set. As stated above, there will be 3 working days during which no exams will be held, and no assignments will be required.
  • Students who are required to submit numerous assignments that were postponed due to the state of emergency, will be able to receive an additional postponement in submitting some of the assignments.

 

Prerequisites

  • Due to the postponement of exams, students will be able to register and participate in courses that they have not yet met fulfilled the prerequisites, and this is until the date of the required prerequisite exam, on an additional date to which they are entitled (Moed B or a special date).
