Dear members of the Hebrew University community,
The student union decided last night to join other student unions in Israel, and shut down classes this coming Thursday, as part of the fight to free the hostages.
The University management decided to adopt a policy of inclusion on this day. All classes will take place as planned, but no mandatory attendance policy will be enforced. Students are responsible for completing the study material.
Dear members of the Hebrew University community,
The Hebrew University restates its commitment to the core values of the State of Israel as reflected in its Declaration of Independence and the values of human dignity and freedom - the sanctity of life, equality, and freedom for all people.
Dear Faculty members,
Lately we have been experiencing a challenging time with the continuation of the war, a situation that sometimes affects our international cooperation. This situation can also affect the enthusiasm for writing research proposals for important funds such as the ERC.
Dear faculty members,
Dear friends and colleagues,
This coming Sunday, the first semester will end - probably the most challenging of semesters ever seen at the Hebrew University. Due to the terrible massacre on 7.10 and the war that started after it, the semester began two and a half months late and in a shortened format of 11 intensive weeks. Over 3,000 male and female students were still serving in the reserves when the semester began, and they are slowly returning to campus. As of today, over a thousand students are still recruited.
Dear Teachers,
As we announced at the beginning of the semester, the fourth week of studies, which begins on January 21, 2024, will be considered "absorption and completion week" for the reservists and soldiers who until now have not begun their studies. During this week there will be a concentrated effort in all courses to bring the reservists to an equal starting point as much as possible to that of the other students.
Dear University researchers,
I am pleased to provide you with an update on the University's support for Open Access publications. The support will be implemented through two main initiatives: 1. Agreements with various publishers and 2. The University's active participation in partial financing of the publication cost.
1. Agreements with publishers that include the open publication component.
Below is a partial list of the publishers with whom the University has an agreement:
Arrangements for Teaching Accommodations for Faculty Members Due to the War
Approved at the meeting of the Standing Committee - 26.12.23
Arrangements for Teaching Accommodations for Faculty Members Serving in the Reserves.
These arrangements apply to senior faculty members on all tracks.
