Message to Faculty Members Currently Abroad

18 June, 2025

Dear Faculty Members Currently Abroad,

I hope you are well during these challenging times, and that your families back home are also doing well.

Given that you are currently unable to return to Israel, and therefore your stay abroad is being extended, please note that you may use your KKM (research and professional development funds) to help cover the costs of extending your stay abroad. This is the current solution. If your KKM funds are insufficient, please be in touch with your deans.

16 June, 2025

To the Hebrew University community—greetings,

We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy, and we send our heartfelt strength to you during these challenging days.

Due to the current security situation, we have decided to extend teaching and learning via Zoom at least until the end of this week. (The faculty will notify you in cases where Zoom instruction is not possible, such as during clinical teaching and laboratory work.)

A call for restraint in the events of the coming week

To all members of the Hebrew University community,

The ongoing war and the timing of calendar events make this period especially challenging for students, academic staff, and administrative staff alike. The upcoming week, during which the Arab-Palestinian community marks the Nakba, is particularly sensitive. Therefore, we find it important to remind everyone how delicate the shared fabric of respectful relations within our community is.

Launching Orbit System

Dear friends,

Tomorrow, Monday, December 16th, the university will launch the new student system, Orbit. This new system replaces the student systems that were established decades ago and will bring the university into the 21st century in terms of the user experience for students and applicants.

Student teams in the faculties are transitioning to a new online platform with a single, more accurate database, stronger infrastructure, and improved development potential.
